There have been a number of issues with new Sartorius balance cables. Users ordering new cables are receiving a standard serial cable instead. A standard serial cable  is identical in appearance to a Sartorius balance cable , but a standard serial cable will not work with newer model Sartoruis balances. Users who recive a new Sartorius cable that does not appear to work shold contact their PPG representataive

Older balances  use a standard serial cable which can be purchased from computer suppliers such as Harvey Norman, etc.
